About Me
Hi, I’m Sara Linares! Bilingual, bold, and fueled by an endless love of storytelling. Born and raised in Miami (yes, I was a bun in the oven during an historic hurricane), I’ve spent over a decade, so far, dedicating my life to the performing arts.
Education:
In 2011, I earned my BFA in Humanities at New College of Florida, where I presented a thesis: translating and directing an adaptation of Antigone by Luís Riaza from Spanish to English. Longing for formal training, I then got my MFA at the FSU/Asolo Conservatory, where I had the incredible opportunity to travel to London. I fell in love with the city, its culture, and inspiring performances.
Now, one of my biggest ambitions is to play across Europe. I also speak French and Portuguese which is a result of my other passions; linguistics, sociology, immersing myself in different cultures.
Work:
Today, I’m proud to be a Shakespearean actor. I also direct and teach Shakespeare to kids, through exploring heightened emotions, which enables them to express themselves clearer than just saying "idk". And examining these timeless stories allows them to be more compassionate. I strongly believe everyone should take an acting or at the very least theater appreciation class. THEATER HISTORY IS HUMAN HISTORY👊🏽
Bringing Shakespeare’s characters to life is a dream come true, and every night on stage feels like an adventure. I also use my multilingual skills to edit, translate and adapt scripts. I believe the more cultures we are exposed to the more empathy we gain.
I've made it one of my life's missions never to be dull, one of the worst things we could be is dull!
